About FeedstockData
A compendium on energy from biomass and waste, built on open sources.
FeedstockData is the English edition of Substraty.pl, a Polish knowledge compendium on biogas, biomethane, bioLNG, biohydrogen, waste-to-energy and the regulations that govern them. The Polish site has been running since December 2019 and is operated by Samael Sp. z o.o. in Tarnów, Poland.
What you will find here
- The compendium — news, explainers, guides and analyses on biogas and biomethane plants, process biology, digestate, CHP engines, safety, markets, law and climate, organised in sections with RSS feeds.
- FAQ — short, sourced answers to practical questions, grouped by topic.
- Search and filters — across all articles and FAQ entries, by section, type, year and tag.
How we work
- Every article cites its sources; figures come from publications, never from guesswork, and we always say where a number comes from.
- Articles are written in Polish by the editorial team with the help of AI tools and checked before publication. We translate them into English with AI assistance. Each translation is checked automatically (numbers, units, structure, terminology) and then reviewed by the editorial team.
- When the Polish original changes, the translation is flagged as outdated and updated; outdated translations are not shown.
- Sponsored content is always labelled and never mixed with editorial content.
- If you find an error, tell us — we correct it and mark the change.
Not yet in the English edition
Some parts of Substraty.pl are currently available in Polish only: the biochemical methane potential (BMP) atlas of 270 substrates, the co-digestion calculator, the data downloads and the company directory. They are being prepared for this edition. Until then you can use them at substraty.pl.
