Newsletter terms

Informational translation of version 1.1 of the Polish document (effective from 20 November 2026). The Polish version is binding. The newsletter is currently offered through substraty.pl.

§ 1. Provider and service

1. The Substraty.pl newsletter (the “Newsletter”) is a free service provided electronically by Samael Sp. z o.o., Czarna Droga 84, 33-101 Tarnów, Poland, KRS 0000503734, NIP 9930654255 (the “Provider”). Contact: contact@feedstockdata.com (for the Polish edition: biuro@substraty.pl).
2. The Newsletter consists of e-mail messages with an overview of new and updated compendium articles, changes in regulations, new data in the BMP database, new tools on the site and other content related to the subject of the site, as well as commercial information about the site’s services (§ 3(2)).
3. To use it you need an e-mail address and an e-mail client or webmail. Messages are sent in HTML and plain-text versions.

§ 2. Subscription — double confirmation (double opt-in)

1. You subscribe through a form on the site: you enter your e-mail address and tick a separate consent box worded: “I consent to receiving the Substraty.pl newsletter, which may contain commercial information about the site’s services, in accordance with the Newsletter terms.” (with a link to the terms). Consent is voluntary and may be withdrawn at any time.
2. After you submit the form, the Provider sends a message from noreply@substraty.pl with a confirmation link valid for 72 hours. We send the Newsletter only after you click the link. After the link expires you can submit the form again. The contract for the service is concluded on confirmation, for an indefinite period.
3. An unconfirmed subscription is deleted after 7 days. The form always shows the same message whether or not the address was already on the list (protection against probing other people’s addresses); limits apply to subscriptions from one IP address and to confirmation messages per address.
4. We store: the e-mail address, status, dates of subscription, confirmation and unsubscription, the place of subscription (e.g. page footer) and the wording and version of the consent. We do not store the IP address. Details: Privacy policy.

§ 3. Content and frequency

1. We send the Newsletter, usually once or twice a month; if regulations change significantly we may send a special edition. Special editions count towards the overall limit: no more than 4 messages in any calendar month.
2. The Newsletter may contain commercial and advertising information about the Provider’s own services, in particular the company directory, sponsored articles and BMP testing; consent to the Newsletter covers this information (Article 398 of the Polish Electronic Communications Law). We do not include advertising or sponsored content of other entities unless we first amend the terms expressly and label it as advertising. We do not pass addresses to other entities.
3. Messages contain no tracking pixels or open-tracking markers; links lead directly to the site.

§ 4. Unsubscribing

1. A subscriber may unsubscribe at any time, free of charge and without giving a reason: through the “Unsubscribe” link in every message (a page with a confirmation button, or one click in an e-mail client that supports the List-Unsubscribe header), or by writing to the contact address.
2. Unsubscription is effective immediately. From the moment it is registered we send no further editions of the Newsletter or commercial information to that address; the sending system checks the current subscription status directly before sending a message.
3. Unsubscribing means withdrawing consent and terminating the contract for the Newsletter service.
4. The Provider may end the Newsletter for an important reason, in particular permanent closure of the project or a change in law that prevents further sending, giving subscribers at least 14 days’ notice. An address to which messages cannot be delivered may be removed from the list.

§ 5. Complaints and changes

1. A complaint may be submitted by e-mail to the contact address or by post to Samael Sp. z o.o., Czarna Droga 84, 33-101 Tarnów, Poland; please state the subscribed address and describe the problem. We reply within 14 days, on a durable medium, to the e-mail address given in the complaint.
2. We may change the terms for an important reason: a change in law or an authority’s decision, a change in the sending functionality, security improvements, a change in the Provider’s details or a change in the scope of the Newsletter that does not materially affect its character. We announce changes in the Newsletter and on the terms page at least 14 days before they take effect; a subscriber who does not accept them may unsubscribe before they take effect (Article 384¹ of the Polish Civil Code).
3. Matters not regulated here are governed by the Terms of service in the version in force on the date the Newsletter contract was concluded.
4. A consumer may unsubscribe at any time with immediate effect (§ 4) and, to the extent that provisions on the right of withdrawal apply to this contract, withdraw from it within 14 days of its conclusion without giving a reason, by sending a statement to the contact address or the Provider’s registered office.
